Portable PA System

Power To Go

And now you have a choice of two ways to get there! Yamaha’s STAGEPAS 300 has already become the portable PA system of choice for legions of musicians on the move, and now the STAGEPAS 500 is available for situations in which a little extra power and channel capacity is needed.

The basics remain the same: an incredibly lightweight, portable, easy-to-use PA system consisting of a pair of high-performance speakers with a built-in powered mixer. You can be set up and playing in a matter of minutes, and then packed away and on the road again with the same ease and speed when you’re done. And all of this is provided with no compromise in sound quality or versatility, plus some advanced features you normally wouldn’t expect to find in systems in this class.

Applications:

The STAGEPAS™ 500 is a great choice for easy operation in a wide range of applications. This versatility makes the Stagepas 500 ideal for the most diverse situations, such as:

  • Solo Guitar Plus Vocals: The high-quality built-in reverb adds the finishing touch to great vocal sound, and the STAGEPAS 500 system also features a LIMIT/COMP switch that  can help to deliver smooth, punchy vocals. The STAGEPAS mixer also has more than enough input capability to directly handle a range of instruments from electric-acoustic guitars to electronic keyboards, which can be plugged directly into the mixer.
  • Live Performance/ Bands:  Multiple microphone inputs (up four) make the STAGEPAS™ 500 system a good choice for band rehearsals or performances. MSR100 powered monitors (sold separately) can be added for monitoring. The Stagepas 500 is an unbeatable live performance system.
  • Speech: Set the SPEECH/MUSIC switch to SPEECH and the STAGEPAS™ 500 mixer is automatically set for maximum clarity  for speech or announcements. Of course, background music from a CD player or other stereo line source can be mixed in with the spoken performance, for background music.
  • Meetings: Up to four microphones can be mixed with one or two stereo sources providing background music or other program material. Add video or projection equipment for an outstanding presentation system.

And all of this is provided with no compromise in sound quality or versatility, plus some advanced features you normally wouldn’t expect to find in systems in this class.

Features:

  • Dual 250-Watt amplifier: Two 250-watt power amplifier can fill surprisingly large clubs or rooms, or project your sound over a considerable distance outdoors. The class-D power  amplifier has been painstakingly designed to deliver  superior sound quality as well as reliability in a remarkably compact unit.
  • Versatile 10-channel Mixer with Monitor and Record Outputs: If there are more members in your band than the STAGEPAS 300’s 8 input channels can handle, or you simply have a lot of sources to mix, the STAGEPAS 500 gives you 10 input channels in all: four mono microphone/line inputs and three stereo line inputs. The additional stereo channel can used for either a stereo or mono source. In addition to the main speaker outputs the mixer has line outputs that can be used to
connect additional powered speakers for monitoring, and to send the mixer's output to a recording device.
  • Phantom Power for High-performance Condenser Microphones: The STAGEPAS 500 mixer features switchable phantom power for the four mono microphone/line inputs. This lets you use high-performance phantom-powered condenser microphones in situations where you want the extended, natural response they provide.
  • Built-in Channel Compression/Limiting: Channels 1 and 2 feature LIMIT/COMP switches that let you apply either limiting or compression to those channels. Limiting can be useful to prevent input overload and distortion with sources that have a wide dynamic range, while compression can add punch to vocals, bass, guitar, and other sources while smoothing out the sound and helping it to “ride” better in the mix.
  • 2-band Channel EQ and Reverb: Like the STAGEPAS 300 mixer, the STAGEPAS 500 mixer has 2-band EQ controls on each channel, as well as REVERB switches on channels 1 through 4. A separate REVERB level control adjusts the reverb mix.

Other Features:

  • XLR and phone-jack inputs on mono channels, and phone-jack and RCA pin- jack inputs on stereo channels allow connection to a wide range of sources.
  •  MIC/LINE switches select microphone or line level  input matching for channels 1 through 4.
  • Auto Limiter prevents overload damage to power amplifier and speakers.
  • LED output level meter.
  • Speaker cables supplied.
  • Optional BMS-10A Mic Stand Adaptor for the mixer unit.
  • The STAGEPAS 500 speakers can be stand mounted without standard speaker stand adapters.

Yamaha STAGEPAS 500 Reviews

10/10

Yamaha are tops !

— John from Aberdeen January 1, 2011

Using this P.A. for our duo and the sound quality is amazing. Set up in minutes and packs away into it's own trolley bag in a couple of minutes.
All our backing tracks, lead vocals, harmonies and my guitar goes through it and it handles it with ease.

Excellent machine. Extremely portable, and can be set up in minutes. Used on College campus by both Staff and Students, this machine has performed well and proved to be robust whether used in Large Hall or outside during special events.

Stagepas 500

— Viv Rolfe November 16, 2007

My first impression of the 500 kit is one of surprise. I didn’t know it would be this good. I’m so glad I spent a bit more and indulged in the 500 over the 300. I tried the 300 in a local shop for local musicians, and found the sound a bit limiting. I just wasn’t very excited. But when the 500 was delivered, I managed to set it up and try it out in about 5 minutes, and was completely amazed at the sound. The sound is full and vibrant with plenty in reserve, and the kit will be more than able to play pubs and busy halls of around 50 – 100 people.

I am using it for piano and vocals, and also playing along to MP3s that I create on Cakewalk and plug in using an iPod. Other instruments I use are tenor sax and clarinet. All sound fabulous. With instruments and cables all over the place, I was slightly daunted having never wired up a PA before (I leave it to the boys, or rather they don’t let me near our main band one). But, to my huge relief the 500 is intuitive and easy to operate. Obviously not being a techno-bloke who takes manuals to bed with them and dreams of Jeremy Clarkson, a quick glance at the brochure made complete sense to even me. The most amazing part is the sound – it is transforming especially the vocals into something I could never imagine.

It is the extra features that make me glad I’ve got it. Being able to record out onto my laptop (great for capturing gigs and listening at rehearsal). I never even thought this was a function I would need, but am using it lots, and is one that the 300 hasn’t got. You can monitor out too which will be useful.

Obviously a bit more on the heavy side (which is why I've given it 9), but does come with a wheelie case like the 300, so is just as portable (and no you can't squeeze a 500 into a 300 case as me and the Dolphin chaps learnt). You don’t have to pay out for extra stand connectors (extra £30 with the 300). Overall, I spent about £150 more than I would to have set myself up with the 300 (including speaker stands and case). The guys at Dolphin gave me the best advice and didn’t just recommend the most expensive products (I was bargaining with about 3 on-line stores that day). Fortunately the Christmas gigs are piling in so it will soon pay for itself. Belvoir Castle here we come!

Price Matching

Dolphin Music brings you the best music gear at the best price. We are committed to superior customer service and have extensive product knowledge. However, in today’s market we may not always be aware of all the price fluctuations of the products we sell. So, we offer competitive price matching.

Please fill in the following form to request a price match.

What prices we will match?

We will compare prices for new, direct from manufacturer items, excluding any add-ons, options, or other special features which may affect price.

The item must be new and must be the exact same make and model (ie, the same size, version, etc.).

Since our postage charges are lower than most of the shops, the comparison price must be a "delivered cost" to the consumer.

If we are unable to verify the previous condition, we will notify you that we require additional information to verify the Price Match request. Our goal is to make this policy simple and hassle-free. We are committed to responding to your requests quickly.

The price you have found must be the Internet Retailer's regular, advertised price for a current and available item. The price you found cannot be a closeout, discontinued, blemished, year-end, inventory reduction, or any other type of advertised sale price.

Price Matching requests may not be combined with any other promotional discounts, specials or other price incentives.
