Sennheiser HD212 Pro Headphones

These headphones are really great. After reading a lot of reviews around the place I bought two pairs of these for simple monitoring of instruments while recording in Sonar. For this they are perfect, cutting down external noise a bit and providing a really nice full sound with plenty of bass.

For attenuating noise they are not perfect and while using them to play Electronic drums the stick noises are still fairly audible, although better than normal iPod in-ear headphones or equivalent!

For listening to music or films they are great and are a real improvement on any other headphones I have had before. The bass is incredible and detail in the mid to highs is pretty good. They give music a pleasing sound but definitely don’t give a flat overall frequency response so couldn’t be used for mixing (not that this is really recommended!).

They are by far the best headphones I’ve owned (having only ever owned fairly cheap in-ear buds) and are great for listening to music, films and also monitoring instruments when recording. For the price I don’t think you’ll find headphones comparable to these.
