Question
Hi, new to all this stuff but wat do you connect the microphone to? Replies appreciated immensely!
Behringer B-1 Large Diaphragm Condenser
Great value for money..good clear sound. Comes with Shockmount which is great and feels heavy, standard large windscreen, and the case is good looking too. The Mic itself feels strong like if you dropped it, it would still survive. Overall its all you need for recording vocals. Better microphones out there but much more expensive and most of them dont even come with a shockmount.
This mic is very good value for money and u wont be dissapointed.
Great quality great price
Great Product.
I actually found this item cheaper somewhere else, but Dolphin Music price matched it for me, and the sales rep on the phone was very helpful, and ordered it on the Thursday, and received on the Friday earlier morning.
The Microphone it\'s self, has a great case to carry to other locations if you so shall be doing it, the shockmount is amazing, the downside on this is that the windshield that came with the B1 Microphone, had been squashed, and is now a bit deformed, but they are cheap enought to buy somewhere else.
The microphone it\'s self, is a great a cheap buy, great sound quality, and you have the + & - of the DB\'s which is a good feature.
You need to have Phantom power to operate this microphone, so make sure you\'ve already got a desk to run it, and you will need a XLR Lead.
OVERALL AMAZING BUY.. MAY GET ANOTHER ONE!!
Behringer B-1
Fantastic microphone, as a radio station these microphones provide excelent audio quality, and have so many functions to adjust the sound. Definately a 10 star buy, worth every penny!
Behringer B-1
This is a Quality Microphone for all Studio's that are serious about Music.
I bought this for a friend for his music studio and he is so happy with the quality of sound and the diffrent things it does for Vocalist like myself, Dolphine Music dispatched this item in excellent conditions and at the good price totally recommand Dolphine to my music friends.
Behringer B-1 Condenser Microphone
The Behringer B-1 Condenser Microphone has proved to be a work horse for me when applied to several small studio projects & also on location recording sessions. As well as doing a grand job of recording vocals & spoken word I also found that as an instrument mic the B-1 could shine when applied in the right way - Especially recording acoustic guitar with a pair of B-1\'s. The B-1 even stood up to recording a kick drum on on occasion with, what has to be said, an excellent Low-End response that didn\'t fail to please.
Comparing the B1 to the Rode NT1A.
After recording the same vocal take with both mic\'s I was surprisingly drawn to keeping the B-1 track as in comparrison the Rode\'s capture seemed a bit thin & lifeless.
Considering that the B-1 is almost half the price of the Rode NT1A I firmly believe that it provides a wider & more musical response. Yes the rode NT1A boasts an ultra-low signal to noise ratio but in a project studio environment, such differences would not realistcally be transparent between the two.
When looking to buy a \"Bang for Buck\" Project Studio condenser microphone the Behringer B-1 is most definitely a sound choice.
B1
Very good budget condenser microphone! Brilliant for home studio owners. I have used this as a primary mic for recording and as an overhead/ambient mic, works well for both uses.
Definatly recommended
A Good, Solid Budget Microphone
I tried several of the microphones in this price range before buying the Behringer offering, and I have not regretted my decision since. Though I am not saying that this microphone out-performs the high-end models costing many times more, I believe that the B-1 is currently one of the forerunners in its price band. It is a perfect choice for a good home studio or low-budget professional.
Build:
The build of this microphone is excellent. It feels very sturdy, has some good, solid weight to it and can take a knock. I haven't dropped it, but the case fills me with confidence and the shockmount is competent enough to keep it stable.
Sound:
You also get a good level from the microphone- a loud, clear signal much improved over a mid-range dynamic. The quality is also very good for this price-range- crisp and detailed. The response is pretty flat, with a slight frequency boost around 12kHz to add a bit of sparkle. Some people may prefer a warmer, darker sound, but that's a matter of taste.
Features:
The microphone has a switchable highpass filter and pad, and overall it lacks no important features that you can get elsewhere for the same price. It comes with its own shockmount, but you will need to supply your own stand, and pop shield if you are recording vocals (as is the case for almost every microphone).
Other notes:
Condenser microphones use phantom power, and this is no exception. The microphone will not produce a signal without this, and if you're a first-time buyer, make sure you have a phantom power source before buying one!
