1969 FENDER® Mustang Competition red with matching headstock
This amazing guitar comes from the year, that the face of music changed, forever. Jimi Hendrix takes us to "Electric Ladyland", while The Beatles release "The white album" as the world listens captivated. The Rolling Stones pen "beggars Banquet" whilst Peter Green and his Fleetwood Mac introduce us to "Albatross" for the first time. Elvis Presley is immortalized in his prime, the 68' comeback special. Iconic times for music and Leo Fender.
I played this guitar for the first time on december the 9th 2006. It looks fantastic, sounds fantastic, plays fantastic and has the matching headstock. The body proudly displays a few scars not uncommon for a vintage guitar of this age - and the frets have some wear around the 2nd - 4th, but still plays great. No serious issues so you can be confident about owning this wonderful instrument. The mustang case is included but the trem arm is missing.
Really friendly guitar and easily the best player of all the Mustangs i've encountered vintage or otherwise. Highly collectable year and finish, especially with the fantastic matching headstock as it's really RARE, not to mention cool as hell. The competition stripe extends around the body, the neck is clean and resonant and even unplugged, you can feel the tone. Aside from the investment aspect, this vintage mustang should be played and loved. A real gem that we at dolphin are proud to offer.
Own a collectable working peice of Fender history.
