50s classc player
I attempted to purchase one, but unfortunately the huddersfield shop were too usy to reply to my request, so I\'ll never know!
Well...
A word of advice, when they say \"check for availability\" they basically mean \"no, we don\'t have it and we aren\'t going to go out of our way to get it\".
The time of my delivery turned up just before a month had passed...
The guitar itself has a comfortable feel, clean pickups with a true fender sound. Its brighter than its classic player 60s cousin and the maple fingerboard feels far more comfortable that the 12\' rosewood fingerboard.
The absolutely terrific feature (after the pickups of course) must be the locking tuners and their confidence against even the most rigorous workout of the tremolo arm.
Of course like most modern guitars is been coated with polyester/polyurethane/whatever it is if it isn\'t nitrocellulose then it is still going to choke the resonance of the wood. I\'m currently looking at custom body replacements with nitrocellulose lacquer that will perfect a guitar that has one of the most common flaws.
Great for fans of Hendrix, Gilmour, Frusciante etc.
Fender Classic Player '50s Stratocaster Two-tone sunburst
Although I had a three month wait before the Classic Player actually arrived on my doorstep, I was very pleased with the condition & quality of the instrument & the very competative price at which Dolphin Music were able to sell it to me. It was a beautiful two-tone burst, reminiscent of Buddy Holly's famous Strat with a nice Maple neck & fingerboard. The quality of it is right up there with the rest of the 'Classic' series Mex-made models, but with extra value thrown in for free in it's Custom shop design. The pickups are USA Vintage style which measure at 5.9K & it certainly twangs just like a good '50s Strat. The fingerboard has a 9.5" camber radius, like USA Am. series Strats, so bends are very 'choke-free'. The pickup selections include a very useful Bridge/Neck combination, so you can get a 'Tele' sound too, & the lower tone knob controls the Bridge pickup, so you can roll off any over the top treble, if you wish. The three-piece Alder body has really good quality paintwork & a very nice figuring in the grain. I would put this up against a Fender Japan Strat any day & would almost put the quality on a par with the American series models, but you only pay half the price ! I'm now seriously thinking about the '60s version & the Baja Tele in the same series.
Fender Classic Player '50s Stratocaster
A great Stratocaster with Maple neck. Good build quality and well finished. For the money it would be difficult to find better. The two colur sunburst finish is flawless. It comes with a padded gig bag, so it is probably best to buy a hard case too.
