The smaller auditorium body size, short scale length, and modified low oval neck make the Martin 000-16GT a very comfortable acoustic to play, particularly for smaller hands. Genuine mahogany, used for the 000-16GT back and sides, is much lighter in weight than rosewood, koa or maple, and yields a surprisingly strong, loud sound with an emphasis on clear, bright airy trebles.

The smaller auditorium body size, short scale length, and modified low oval neck make the Martin 000-16GT a very comfortable acoustic to play, particularly for smaller hands. Martin's signature scalloped bracing and narrow 1 11/16" nut width make the 000-16GT a great choice for strummers. The solid sitka spruce top is extremely vibrant and provides an ideal ”diaphragm“ for transmission of sound. Solid sitka spruce is the primary top wood for Martin guitars, and is chosen for its straight, uniform grain, longevity and tensile strength. Genuine mahogany, used for the 000-16GT back and sides, is much lighter in weight than rosewood, koa or maple, and yields a surprisingly strong, loud sound with an emphasis on clear, bright airy trebles.
