@ Roland : Your problem is easily fixed. ATM you are placing your pedal in front of the amp (eg. Your signal chain is GUITAR -> Pedals -> Amp input). The reason why this is giving you a Hiss is because the guitar signal has been passed through your amps Preamp and power amp before being delivered to the loudspeaker. This means that when you stomp on your LPB-1 the signal (which has had Gain already applied to it) is being further amplified (adding more gain and thus hiss).

2 options : buy a de-hum/noise gate pedal (EH do a nice EQ pedal for removing hiss and undertone hum :

or

Try placing your LPB-1 in the insert/send effects loop of the amp. This effectively places your pedal between your pre-amp/power amp and thus the only signal being boosted is the \\\"clean\\\" signal of the guitar (eg the unprocessed signal before the gain and any other effects are added)


now for the pedal : Great ! , cheap and does what it says on the tin. cant really fault mine tbh :)

EH LPB-1

I bought this booster because my other one (Nobel PRE-1) introduced a hiss in my set-up. Although I did try this one in the shop and didn't notice a hiss, I heard it as soon as plugged it into my own gear, especially on distorted settings. I own a Marshall AVT150 and also use Dunlop Wah and Bluesbreaker II. Changing leads etc. doesn't help. If I exchange the BBII for the EH then it goes from quiet to hiss. So there's something in my set-up that doesn't agree with the EH LBP-1 and I can't find out what it is. Too bad because I like its looks and simplicity.
