Micro Q-tron
I'm a bass guitarist who has recently made the swap from digital multi effects processors back to analogue units. The micro Q-tron arrived promptly and did not disappoint on the performance front; instantly funky whether playing finger-style or slapping (easy to alter pedal settings for either style). With a minimal amount of knobs (only three on this model: filter band selection, Q and drive) there's very little to using this unit, recommended for guitar or bass (even rhodes or Clavi too) for an instant FUNK element to your sound. For the money you won't find a better envelope filter, I've had digital and the old DOD FX25 green pedals (as favoured by Flea around the time of bloodsugarsexmagic) and this the best one I've used yet, I use mine in conjunction with a Russian Big Muff (also electro harmonix) and get some awesome sounds through my amp. If you're interested then follow the links to the demonstration video files from dolphin's site, very informative 'road-tests' of the EH kit. My only criticisms of this unit are that the band selection is labelled incorrectly and there's a small black sticker on the front of the pedal to correct this (only aesthetic and in no way detrimental to the sound) and secondly there seems to be a noticeable increase in the output volume when used in Low Pass mode - though playing a bass through the pedal may have something to do with this...
