Perfect for the price
Passive sound as far as my ears and monitors can tell, ok build quality if a little plasticy but at this price you cant complain. Would recommend to anyone needing a cheep and easy way to switch between sources and monitors.
MINIMON MON800
I\'ve had the minimon mon800 now for a few weeks and I am very very impressed. For £30 this is a very good piece of kit.
The minimon doesn\'t colour the sound, is silent in operation, and provides two very clear headphone channels.
A steal for the price!
Useful inn many locations
We have two Mon800's now. One in our FCP edit suite and one in our home studio. I intend buying two more for other suites. This is a really useful general purpose monitoring matrix.
In the FCP suite we use the headphone output to drive the PPMs so that we can calibrate them to the MacPro output.
I like the Mon800's a lot - with the mute/dim keys it stops operators fiddling with the speaker level controls and then getting the levels wrong because their ears readjust.
I would recommend every suite that doesn't have a full desk with dim/mute etc on monitoring to use this.
Bargain!
I was sceptical about this product for two reasons, 1. I had owned a behringer desk in the past and it was noisey & unreliable, and 2. how could it be any good for £30?? Well, colour me impressed!
The Minimon is silent in opperation, doesn\\\'t colour the sound and has proved more useful to me than I initially anticipated.
If you want to swtich between 1-4 sound sources and use more than one set of speakers this is the box for you, highly recommended.
EXCELLENT
Works perfectly routing my output to all monitors i have and the talkback mic helps alot when recording vocalists in the booth and it's the only monitor matrix that i've found that is under £30
