The Takamine EF444S-TBS Acoustic Guitar, Tobacco Sunburst finish. Stunning looks, balanced tone, warm sound and comfortable size.

The Takamine EF444S-TBS is a 6 String Electro Acoustic guitar, using the CT4B Preamp. With its balanced tone, warm sound and comfortable size the EF444STBS is a consistent favourite of players who also sing. This guitar features a Solid Spruce top with mahogany back and sides in a NEX body shape, a rosewood fingerboard with Abalone dot inlays, an Abalone inlay Concentric Rings Rosette and chrome tuners. The CT4B Preamp is easy to use, featuring a warm-sounding 3-band graphic with an extremely stable and accurate chromatic tuner. Great for non-standard and open tunings.

Takamine EF444S

Unusual Takamine as it is the NEX bodyshape without a cutaway. Solid spruce top but mahogany laminate back and sides, finished in a lovely vintage looking tobacco sunburst. Pre amp is simple but very functional offering a limited but effective choice. Less is more maybe, at least for me. The neck is a standard Takamine slimline affair, comfortable but a tad narrow for the dedicated fingerpicker. The factory set up was very good with a lowish action.
Sweet unplugged acoustic tone with a good fingerpicking response, less genuine when hit harder with a pick. When plugged in the pre amp gives the ability to achieve a very good warm tone. Overall I\'m very pleased with it. I chose it for its fingerpicking/gentle strumming characteristics and I\'m not dissapointed. It\'s a good looker that responds to a light touch and the quality of the build (it\'s a Japanese made model) is very good indeed.
Takamine had a special edition version of this guitar in the States from 2001 and it seemed to be well received there.
