vintage VS6 left handed
vintage huh?crap?not quite. So why am I putting my balls on the chopping board and telling you it\'s great?well...
LOOKS:It looks great.the double cutaway body with cherry red finish is essentially identical to that of a Gibson. The tone/volumes knobs are in all the right places and the dual layered scratch plate kicks ass.The only part that lets it down are the bogie coloured machine heads, which, although they handle great and you could leave your guitar in a cupboard for a year and it wouldn\'t untune itself, look less than perfect.anyway...
TONE:well.what a range.I play the vs6 as my lead guitar in a four piece rock band so being able to cut through the rythm and bass lines is paramount. This guitar manages superbly,my vs6 has to be able to play a variety of stlyes from hendrix to avenged sevenfold and trivium so it has to be flexible. The range of tones on offer from this guitar are easily accessed by using the two pickups and a mixture of the tone/volume knob settings. The bridge pickup is perfect for shredding out those string melting solos and the neck position pickup is ideal for the smoother more gentle sounds of blues. My only complaint is that the bridge pickup loses gain at the very high notes. This is easily remedied by a distortion pedal though.finally...
PLAYABILITY:Some guitars sound great but play like a cunt. The vs6 sounds brilliant and plays like a dream. The rythm guitarist in my band plays an epiphone SG,To start off with he was more than delighted to shower the vs6 with smart arse budget guitar comments. Then he saw how it played. Now he has nothing but respect for it.His SG\'s Strings are almost half an inch off the fret board and you need a fist to press them down on the frets,The flat neck is slow and gritty and struggles with fast riffing halfway up the neck. The vs6s strings take the slightest touch to create music and the slightly rounded neck makes it simplicity itself to move up octaves in a instant.
in conclusion This guitar is easily one of the best on the market for this price bracket.i can thoroughly reccomend it.
