AudioBlob 2
I Bought a pair of these, very impressed. my friend heard them, bought a pair. another friend heard them, bought a pair. needed something with grills and great sound that would last and work for all music types for the bath university\'s music production society. (of which I\'m chair) sound great.
bought a measurement microphone, measured the audioblobs in good quality room. result; these speakers, with no doubt in my mind, are the best you can buy for £49.00 FACT
Roth Audioblob package
Recently got a set of these for my home studio monitoring. They work really well and have plenty of power and accuracy. Good frequency response and adjustable subwoofer level. At this price they must be the best quality sound system you can get. For a final monitor I always go to my Linn system next door but for general monitoring these are extremely good value.

Sound quality for the price is completely ludicrous. These make a mockery of cheap monitors and computer speakers. The sub is on spikes and has no ports. It sounds smooth and solid even at very low volume levels. The satellites are small, but the high crossover frequency to the tweeter helps avoid excess shrillness. I can listen to music very quietly, or reasonably loudly, and still hear it all.
Build quality-wise, I\'ve only had them a week, so we shall see. They seem very solid though, with a reassuring grill to protect each speaker. Wouldn\'t be too worried about slinging them loose in a bag, but have yet to try it. Sub is satisfyingly heavy.
The features are very simple: two phono inputs, two phono speaker cable outputs, master volume, sub volume. No EQ, no remote volume control, no headphone input. I control them from a mixer, and some kind of mixer or routing matrix certainly makes them more practical in a bedroom studio setup. Then again, I\'m only thinking about EQ because the sound is so abnormally good for the price.
They look nice enough next to a white mac, sound great even with the volume throttled right back and cost less than a BOSS pedal. No-brainer.
