Behringer C3
This microphone produces great quality sound at a low cost. Excellent buy! Worth getting
c-3
with its cheap price you\'d think to stay well clear off this little gem, but you\'d be wrong to be so quick to reject it. A great microphone that works well with acoutic instuments and a good back up mic for vocals this is not to be sniffed at. A bargain that looks and sounds the part.
Behringer c3
met all my expectationa and more. the C3 is a very powerful hombre. Even in the most noisiest of conditions, it can still produce quality sound
Great microphone, great price
For such a low price, this is a great microphone. I've used it with an edirol breakout box to record guitars and vox in an attic room, and the quality and clarity of the sound is superb. Vocals come through with great frequency range, and a warm yet clean sound. Guitars, even a fairly cheap acoustic, are clear and easy to work on once recorded. It's a wonderful microphone for recording, and I think that the many tens of pounds more necessary to buy a better one are not worth it for the barely audible improvement in sound that you would get.
Too fizzy...
I tried a couple of these just in case Behringer could repeat the sound quality miracle I found on trying the omni capsule of the B-5, but sadly, despite the relatively unobtrusive noise floor, overall clean sound and genuinely useful switched pattern, they just sounded way too fizzy and hyped-up for the type of acoustic recording I specialize in. So I sent them straight back and swopped them for the equivalent Rode at 4 times the price. Absolutely no comparison; see my review of the NT-2.
Behringer C3
I bought two of these due to wanting to experiment with different microphone patterns and recording techniques. For the ridiculously low price, these microphones are fantastic for home studios. The C3 has now become one of the mics I use most often especially on close vocals. Combined with the Behringer Ultragain Mic100 tube preamp, it delivers fantastic warmth.
For stereo ambient, it is less ideal due to the noise ratio but for this task I would always recommend AKG perception 200s or Rode NT1-A (for those who want quality at an affordable price!). At under £50, this mic is a steal given its suitability for home studio use and the various patterns (omni, cardioid and figure of 8). Behringer have done well with this mic - perfect for beginners, schools and home studio enthusiasts. If you can't make a good recording with this mic you are doing something wrong!
the behringer
So, I gots lotsa common mics. Nothin outrageous. I make it a point not to list the gear in my studio... I even put tape over the names (big$ and little$ they aint paying me for advertising). When clients ask for what I use, I say it changes constantly. Damn, I got kids to feed; spending crazy $$ on a compressor or an eq or a mic just isnt in my game plan. I let the finished product speak. My finished product is the direct result of quality affordable components like this mic. Keep your eyes closed and you'll think that it's a $500 mic. Thanks to decent well engineered products like this, I can keep my rates low, my schedule FULLY booked and my clients extremely happy. Right now, this particular mic (I bought 2) works perfect for stereo room mic to add that depth to drum mixes and live tracking. From the sounds of it I will be using these alot more.
