Fender \'50s stratocaster

I didn\'t go into the shop to purchase a guitar, just to play a few to see what suited. I already had an Epiphone Les Paul and a couple of Affinity Strats and had owned a Yamaha Pacifica, all of which I was quite satisfied with, but as soon as I saw this aged looking sunburst beauty hanging on the wall I thought I may have found a soul mate.
Not only is this \'50s Strat a thing of beauty, it is also heaven to play. I knew I was playing something different from other Strats but didn\'t know why. It turned out that this Strat has a 7.25 inch radius v-shaped maple neck instead of the modern 9.5inch C profile, and the frets are smaller vintage style not the ubiquitous jumbo ones. I didn\'t know that at the time nor did I realise the pickups were vintage style and had slightly lower output.
What I did know was this thing sounded like heaven through a medium priced valve amp (and very nice unplugged)and the neck was absolutely superb. Before I knew it I\'d spent an hour playing this guitar (it was getting late and the shop wanted to shut)and I could not leave without it, so I chopped in my vintage modified Squier then and there and went home a very happy camper. Three months later and the love affair continues - I cannot walk past it without picking it up (never put your axe in a case, always leave it on a stand and accessable)and find it hard to believe there\'s a better instrument out there.
Do yourself a big favour - find one and buy it as quickly as you can!!!!
