Squier by Fender 51 - Vintage Blonde

I didn't think I would get into guitar playing again

...but after being inspired to make music of own, I decided that I needed to hone my guitar skills which leave a lot to be desired.

One thing I knew before purchasing, was that I needed a guitar which I enjoyed playing and as well as that; a guitar that was cheap. Upon trying out the Squire Strat and a Yamaha Pacifica, I was left tentative as to purchase. That is until I came across this on the offchance.

This guitar packs and punch from the humbucker and it doesn't half have a growl on it - for which the strat was lacking. But this was not the only thing I was after, for the bright tone (twang!) of this guitar is fabulous, having been put off by the muddier sound of the pacifica. This guitar is so fun to play - my hand slides up and down the neck effortlessly. I needn't even plug it in to enjoy it. As a bonus, it is also very good looking.

I could fault this guitar in two ways:

The lack of a tone guage, for example. However, you get to choose between 5 pick-up combinations - which more than satisfy - and then, of course, there is the volume. It poses no problem for me, as an amatuer I feel little need for it.

Also, the pick-ups are probably not of the best quality (there's a buzzing heard on the amp when I switch my PC on, for example.) However, this is not a big problem, and you can't expect anything more from a budget guitar, I suppose.

I strongly recommend this guitar.
