First introduced in 1958, the AC15 15-watt combo has been the amp of choice for countless tone-loving guitar players throughout the world. Now VOX introduces the next incarnation of this renowned amplifier, the AC15 Custom Classic (AC15CC). Like its big brother, the AC30 Custom Classic, the flexible, affordable AC15CC is equipped with a number of modern features and conveniences.

The AC15CC has an array of features including Master volume, spring Reverb, Treble and Bass controls and Tremolo with fully variable Speed and Depth. Tremolo and Reverb are footswitchable with the included VF002 footswitch. The speaker impedance is switchable (8 or 16 ohms) for connecting external cabinets. The AC15CC is available with either a Celestion AlNiCo "Blue" Speaker or a specially voiced VOX Custom speaker (AC15CC1). The choice is yours!

  • Rear panel controls: Loudspeaker out jack ( x 2), Impedance Selection Switch (8 or 16 Ohm), Footswitch jack, HT Fuse, Mains Input, Mains Fuse
  • Power Output: 15 Watts RMS into an 8 or 16 ohm loudspeaker load.
  • Internal speaker: Celestion AlNiCo "Blue" Speaker
  • Valve/tube complement: 2 x EL84/6BQ5 & 2 x 12AX7/ECC83.
  • Includes VF002 dual footswitch, power cable

I bought this amp (Alnico Blue) and was totally surprised by the tonal range and dare i say it... Warmth. I own a silverface fender twin reverb (1970s) in great condition, but the twin started making a few strange noises, this is not good for recording (even if your into strange noises). I gambled and went for a vox. Well, i'm a turncoat, Vox for life. Although not as bright or clean as the twin this amp can definatly get close to matching it for warm overdriven sounds. Clarity of sound when overdriven is incredable. The spring reverb will conjure a nostalgic tear for the more conservative vox enthusiast. But is a little uncontrollable for my taste. I've given this a 9 due to the fact of poor interface hardware; the knobs and especially the input jack look as if they could break just by staring at them.
