Vox Valvetronix AD15VT Review by Tim

Small Package. Big Sound.
Looking for a practice amp? Just started playing and you don't know where to start? Check out this baby! Don't let the Classic simple Vox look fool you. This is packed with some really cool technology and doesn't hurt the bank balance.
I loved this amp as soon as I tried it. I had considered the Roland micro cube, the Marshall AVT20 and a line 6 spider. This was way better than the Roland and I didn't even bother with the Marshall or the Line 6.
What this amp has got is amazing sound quality and flexibility. You just can't beat it at that price.
With 11 amp modelling settings, 11 effects combinations, and two programmable "channels", this goes way beyond what most of us started on. It also saves you a lot of money on effects pedals whilst you figure out what kind of sound you want. The 11 factory amp / effects presets make this instantly accessible, but the controls are easy to use and you'll be creating your own cool sounds in no time.
From "Boutique Clean" through to "Boutique Overdrive", you get all kinds of shades of gain levels, including "Numetal", "UK Modern" (a favourite of mine for getting "Slash" tones), a range of clean to crunch sounds, and of course two classic vox sounds - AC15 and AC30. Think about early to mid "The Who" without the bleeding ears!
The higher gain amp settings get the volume up to impressive levels, which you will find fine for playing with friends, though you will need more for playing with drums. No problem - they also do 30, 50 and 100 watt versions at decent prices.
This has got to be the best value for money small amp on the market.
What are you waiting for?

this has got to be the best modeling amp on the planet,iv played line 6 amps and they come no where close to vox for tone, the only thing i dont like about the amp is that on some amp models like uk 80s and us high gain is there is not enough gain, apart from that there is nothing i can say bad about it,the amp is great for vai and satch fans espesily with the us hi gain model there is not a sound u can not get with this amp, glassy clean to extreame gain..........buy one.

The perfect amp for home players. I for one have been serching for a Brian may tone but without high volume, this amp in my mind nails his tone when used with a good treble booster. As most players know he has his Ac30s cranked right up. The other ten amp type simulators are equally as good on reproduction of varyous tones. Good effects at the flick of a switch also included.

vox ad15 by John Lynch

this was my first amp (it still is,) to begin with i really hated it, thought it sounded terrible and and everything was over distorted. the more i played with it the more i realised it was me and my guitar. i started out with a les paul modded with emg pickups, which are very high output,(hence everything slightly distorted) the ad15 dosent deal well with the super high output pickups (yet works with super distortions quite well.) im now playing a strat which hits a sweet spot on the ac30 setting. The amp has an interesting set of presets which (depending in tastes) run the gauntlet from sharp to nice to wtf? personally i find the tweed, ac30, 70s and boutique overdrive sound the best.
the sounds may not be what youre after and as a learner at times i wish i had a simpler amp, that said the amp has been good as since purchasing im listening to less and less metal and more blues type music, and it has enabled me to change at the turn of a dial.
