I had a problem with my live p.a set up, until I bought this unit.

Somewhere between my Behringer audio interface from my laptop and my stage p.a set up, I loose power and gain in my audio signal.

I decided to try and find a portable, pre amp to deal with this, and thought I would give the Behringer MiniFBQ800 a go.

If you are looking for an instant way to add some gain to your p.a, eq sound, balance and reduce noise. and fit it all in a small case.

Then this is the product for you.

Lap top performaers on a budget, go no further..

I looked for a long time for a compact EQ at a cost effective price and this absolutely hits the mark. I have used this on both professional recording and also on a hifi. It preforms brilliantly in both situations. The performance is brilliant and does not relate to the £29 price tag. Particularly useful is the overall level control which some more expensive models seem to lack. The only downside is that the controls are relatively small. You can't have everything though a small package means small controls. I wouldn't be without it.

ehringer MINIFBQ FBQ800 Review

Peter Madeley (November 7, 2006)
Rating: 9/10

The Behringer MINIFBQ FBQ800 has been part of my digital audio visual presentation kit for the last 6 months. I often have to perform at venues without the advantage of making a preliminary sound check. In smaller rooms, the acoustics can vary significantly between an empty room pre-show and one with an audience. This little EQ takes up hardly space in the kit bag but allows me to compensate for any acoustic deficiencies in the presentation room. There is a choice of 6 or 12dB attenuation/boost and the bass cut button is very useful in extreme situations which let me get the very best sound out of my laptop. Behringer also manages to include their Auto Feedback Detection system into this box which has been great when I have been radio miked and move around the room. Quality sound is half the battle in effective audio visual. Having the little hardware EQ makes it so easy to tweak on the fly, the pre-recorded soundtrack which would not be possible with a software EQ on a soundcard. I wouldn’t want to be without it as it has saved my sound on many occasions. And all this for £30? You bet!
