line 6 riff tracker and guitar port is an incredible buy. i was looking for another product that i had bought and was disappointed with. i returned the product and picked up the line 6 guitar port and riff tracker by sonomawire works.
i was totally amazed at what i had just bought. the guitar port has many amp simulations and effects and preset tones that one can plug into. microphone presets, bass guitar, guitar.
now with the guitar plugged into the guitar port, you will record into rifftracker which is incredible. you can set your drums to desired bpm and add effects, change the amount of bars to a riff and jam away. the riff tracker will record the guitar or bass or voice while the drums play. it will repeat the amount of bars and record over them in layers so you can pick the your best recording. then you can add effects from the great effects built in.
this way you can build a song very easily.
what is also great with the sonomawireworks program is that you can change drummers to a riff even after everything is recorded.
i had no idea what was available for home recording, i was looking for a loop pedal just to dink around with and i found this instead for less money.
i have upgraded to riffworks standard which will work with the stealth plug or jamlab (which i have) so i can get the sounds and tones from my own amps and pedals. i have used gear box, guitarport, and my own amps and pedals in the same song.
if anyone asked me what they should buy to play with, it would be this, hands down.
all you need is a guitar, this combo and a computer. if you have a mac it can be portable.
i'm tellin ya, i've had this for 1 year and i am still finding out about this program even though i was confident in about a day using it.
the tones and quality of drums and effects are top notch.
this is great for beginners and not a bad scatch pad for pro's either.
