This is close to a full house that it's a crying shame a couple of features have been left off. Lets start with the good. The filter side of this unit is great. Gives nice clean sweeping filters with no digital stepping. For the money alone, it's worth it. Flanger operates well and also produces nice clean effects. The scratch function, which I expected to be pants, is actually rather useful. I've put it to use in the studio on voice over work. It's nice to be able to scratch a vocal without some awful software thing and a mouse or old reel to reel. Would be great fun for karaoke too that and it's a nice touch. The kill swithces were so good that I thought the unit was faulty when I first powered it up as I was hardly getting any audio out of it! (They activate by default on first power up). Also useful in the pitch transpose. Useful for getting stuff back in key after altering it's speed. Really useful for remixers either live, or struggling by trial and error to guess the amount of shift needed (sound familiar sound forge users?). The sampler is simple and performs well with good audio.

The bad is the delay. There is no feedback control at all which makes it almost useless and a total shame. In addition a reverb on it would have made it big difference and can't understand why they missed that one off when you can find it on there DJ mixers.

Minor irritation is the DRY/WET setting. It applies not to the unit as a whole, but the last effect you used. So you can be trying to put out a wet filter but be altering the flange mix. It is, however, more flexible and cleverly thought out.

This unit will find uses in home studios and with DJ's. It lacks the usual power switch - a Behringer thing that - lights your studio up red (it's very bright!) just wish they had thought about the feedback level on the delay and stuck a basic reverb on it. Audio is excellent and on the whole it's easily worth the money.

Wanted one, couldn't find a review on the net so took a leap of faith and got one. Verdict, this is big fun, works and is cheap to boot if you want to add an extra dimension to your mix. The main feature i use is the sampler which will capture anything from one bar to 16 and thanks to the built in BPM counter when you play the smaple it is looped in time with the tune you have just sampled. I have seen the peavey grabber out and about but this does the same and much more for nearly a third of the price. You also get effects like a flanger and delay and as they all fall in time with the BPM they will always be in time with the record currently playing. You can alter the times if you want but it has preset times to match the BPM and you tend to use these the most. This box also includes a scratch effect but in a word this is 'shite' but don't let it distract from the other features. it is mega value for money and works an absolute treat alowing you to drop perfectly timed loops into the mix and amaze yourself and your friends. It is easy to use from the start and the sound quality is super, i have used it over a big PA in a club and you could not tell the difference from the sample to the record and vica versa. I bought the dfx69 because of the features it has and the price! I wasn't expecting great things given the price, and the fact it does look like a little kids toy! Anyways I set it all up and had a play - I was suprised!, it is a great bit of kit. Once you get used to it the functions are actually easy to use. Nice simple sampler, scratcher and pitch. As well as the impressive delay, flanger and filter effects.

I would recommend anyone to buy one of these! Especially newcomers to djing. For the money it is a steal!
