Propellerhead have once again brought out another great upgrade to the already fantastic Reason system. However, installing it onto my MacBook Pro was very difficult, so please beware of the following serious issues (which mean I've rated it at 7 instead of the 10 it deserves):
1. Any locked files in your Reason folder will prevent installation. This can be frustrating, as I didn't know any of my Reason song files were locked. It turned out that three songs I had downloaded from the Prop website were locked, which I had to move before the installation would work.
2. VERY IMPORTANT: when the installation did go ahead, I was shocked to see that EVERYTHING in my Reason folder had been overwritten. I've been a Reason user for 6 years, and none of the other upgrades have done this. Thankfully I regularly back up my system, so had to restore all my work, but if I hadn't been backing up my work, I would have lost the lot, which isn't too clever.
I'm loving the upgrade now, and recommend it as an essential purchase for Reason users, but please beware of the above points, to save yourself heart failure when you see all your work being overwritten.
