Ok…so these aren’t the set if you need to master a mix and ensure what you hear on them is the same as what is on the track as they have a definite ‘hi-fi’ rich sound. This is very rewarding, warm, and pleasing for listening to music from a variety of sources from CD units, TV, even an electronic drum kit!

The sound isolation is very good for the size of the ‘phones, and they do cover the ear fully without being unnecessarily bulky. They are also very light and comfortable and can be warn for long periods of time without hot/sore ear problems.

They have quite low impedance, which is to say if you connect them to professional gear (which is expecting higher impedance headphones) you always have the headphone level low, but sound quality is not greatly affected.

You will NOT get anything better for £17, and they are great for all general purpose listening. The bass response is so full that often, in the evening when trying to be quiet, I take them off just after using to ensure my loudspeakers are actually turned off given the bass I can hear from the HD202s.

If you want headphones for monitoring a mix etc spend the extra on a professional set of ‘cans’, otherwise jump in.
