Well, I've had a few sound interfaces and cards in my time but nothing comes close to this stunning unit!
Superb mic pre amps (best I've heard) and enough ins/outs including digital connections to plug in your harware and microphones.
Totaly professional looking and sounding unit.
If you are looking for a sound interface for life, look no further.

Focusrite Saffire PRO 10 I/O

Whilst already owning the excellent Tascam US-144, I needed more XLR preamps to simultaneously record multiple close-miked instruments/vocals and use a stereo setup combined with spot-miking an orchestral soloist. As much as I like the Tascam, the Focusrite , as well as possessing 10 inputs (including 8 high-quality XLRs), transformed my recording results. This was simply due to the outstanding preamps available on this unit. I am not alone in thinking that these are some of the best available on the market. Combined with the low noise NT1-As, the full dynamic of a piano or orchestral is fully captured, crystal clear, and with an amazingly low noise floor.

The output section of the software control panel looks slightly daunting at first and could perhaps be designed better but actually is quite easy to use once you find your way around. Through the firewire connection, the interface works flawlessly and most people can quite happily load their DAW and forget about the Focusrite control panel. However, the monitor mixing section is adjustable to nearly any setup you can think of and the unit is even capable of operating without a computer connection (although you will obviously need the included external PSU for this).

As an added bonus, the interface ships with some software VST plugins (EQ, compression, reverb etc) and while I prefer the Samplitude 10 in-house plugins, these are generally high quality and would be a fine addition to any home studio.

I find that the Saffire can fit into a laptop bag and is capable of powering purely from the firewire making it an ideal choice for the traveling sound engineer who does not want to skimp on quality.

The unit looks, feels and sounds professional. For the price, the pre-amps are a steal and I promise that you will not be disappointed by this product.
