I run six sets of stereo in ear monitors twice a week. We use a mackie matrix board and 5 of the band members use Rolls individual headphone amps with the lead singer using a PSM700 and this DBX IEM system. I set the DBX IEM on a factory preset to get a feel for what it does and it absolutely blew me away. I put my in ear monitors in my ears and started to play the piano and sing and the monitor mix in my ears sounded like I was hearing every detail but with all of the ambience of the room. You can change the settings on this unit to feel more like a smaller or larger room. The cmpression preset programs work great too. The compressor really stabilizes the mix and increases your ability to pick each instrument out of the mix when needed. With tons of useful presets and compression, limting, and eq this system is the absolute top product to achieve a realistic in ear monitor mix. The DBX DDP is very similar to this product, but it doesn't include the lexicon reverb . The DDP gets you a good EQ, limiter, and compressor but won't make your in ear mix sound as good as this system will. I promise you will not be dissapointed with this thing. My ideal rack would be nothing but Sennheiser wireless IEM's and a whole bunch of these.
