Audio Support hosts the London Music Technology Teachers Forum

Tuesday 13th November, 2007

Audio Support are hosting the London Music Technology Teachers Forum at The Albany in Deptford on 14th November 2007.

This project is initially a series of three events, free to attend, aimed at bringing together people involved or interested in music technology education to share knowledge, contacts, resources, experiences and opportunities.

The forum is designed for teachers/tutors in both formal and non-formal education. They are also aimed at those who want to become involved with teaching and are looking to find work experience in community groups or formal education. The forum is being run by Audio Support LLP and supported by MusicLeader.net.

The first session will take place on Wednesday 14th November between 6.30pm and 8pm. The event will be held at The Albany in Deptford. (Getting there information can be found at http://www.thealbany.org.uk/pages/contact.html)

Complimentary refreshments will be available. The next two dates are to be confirmed and if the initial sessions are a success the forum may develop into a regular monthly or termly event.

This forum aims to help teachers delivering music technology courses who are often working in relative isolation in schools and small projects teaching pioneering new material with little support available.

This forum hopes to benefit those teaching nationally accrediated Music Tech courses such as NCFE or BTEC, teachers will be given the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation to themselves and share their resources and experiences in a mutually beneficial environment. Schemes of work, techniques, teaching and learning resources could all be shared to reduce the workload of individual teachers.

The forum also aims to help those looking to gain entry into the world of teaching by providing students and graduates the opportunity to meet established teachers and set up work experience opportunities.

During the forum meetings there will also be group discussions on approaches and techniques in the teaching of Music Technology.

For further information and to book your place please call Paul Andrews, Head of Education at Audio Support on 0208 249 3168 or email paul@audiosupport.co.uk.
