With close to one million units sold, the UB mixer series has become one of the most popular mixer series of all times that has no doubt connected musicians all over the world. Our new Xenyx mixers will take you to an even higher plane.

The Xenyx 802 has 8 inputs and a FX Send control for each channel. Additionally, assignable CD/tape inputs have been incorporated for routing flexibility.

The new Xenyx Mic Preamp matches the sound quality, transparency, headroom and even the dynamic range of boutique-style, stand-alone mic preamps.

Our neo-classic “British EQ” brings back the warmth and musicality of those ‘60s and ‘70s mega-console desks that made music history.

  • Premium ultra low-noise, high headroom analog mixer
  • 2 state-of-the-art Xenyx Mic Preamps comparable to stand-alone boutique preamps
  • Neo-classic "British" 3-band EQs for warm and musical sound
  • 1 post fader FX send per channel for external FX devices
  • 1 stereo aux return for FX applications or as separate stereo input
  • Main mix outputs plus separate control room, phones and stereo CD/tape outputs
  • CD/tape inputs assignable to main mix or control room/phones outputs
  • High-quality components and exceptionally rugged construction ensure long life

What a cracking little mixer for the price! the first thing that struck me was the quality of the packageing it came in and then getting to the mixer itself, i was pleasantly surprised by what it has to offer and how sturdily built it seemed to be. Had mine for about 2 weeks now, used it everyday in more small home studio and it\'s been perfect for my needs. This mixer for me only has 2 black marks against it, the 1st being no on/off switch and 2ndly it has a real annoyingly bright power on light! But overall, a great little mixer that i\'d recommend

When I bought this mixer, I bought it for the channels and how cheap it was. It was an okay mixer with a few faults only.
The manual is very helpful, the only problem i had with it is that you must buy your own interface.
It comes with the 48V Phantom Power and with AUX and other cool things.

All in all it is a pretty good mixer.

Excellent little mixer, does exactly what it says on the box (!) The number of inputs makes it very versatile and the EQ enables you to get a great sound in seconds. Logical arrangement makes it easy to get to grips with. You are also getting 2 quality mic preamps & 48V phantom power and all for under £40 !

Gripes:-
This would have rated a 10 if it had it's own on/off switch rather than having to turn off/ disconnect at the wall socket.

I'm not a recording engineer by any ones standards and infact this is the first mixing desk I have ever owned. I brought it to record myself on guitar and my a partners vocals. I opened the box plugged it in connected it to my Mac connected a mic plugged in the preamp from my electro-acoustic twiddled a couple of knobs to make it look like I knew what I was doing in front of my girfriend and 5 minutes later we had recorded our first track, and it didn't sound bad even if I do say so myself.
Since then I have got twiddle mania and have on occasion made us sound terrible. As a complete recording amateur this little desk is a gem!!! I would recomend it to anyone in the same situation as me. One little gripe, no On and Off switch or am I too stupid to have seen it yet?

Quite often, the problem with buying budget equipment is the slight stigma associated with it: perhaps the sound quality might be a little off, its features may be lacking, or, sometimes a massive psychological setback, it doesn't appear to be in the same league as the big, sought after, professional pieces of kit. But the Behringer Xenyx 802 is a unit that I would be proud to stick on my desktop alongside anything else.

First off, the 802 has a surprisingly large number of features for such a small desk. Two mic preamps with trim controls and phantom power, plus two additional stereo inputs – all with three band EQ. An additional CD/tape input make the number of ins on this little device quite numerous. With main, control room, headphone and CD/tape outputs, plus an unexpected effects send and stereo return, the connectivity on this mixer is quite impressive. In fact, this desk is pretty much twice what its little brother, the Xenyx 502, could ever hope to be, and at only around £10 extra…? Ridiculous!

You may also be surprised at the audio quality, which Behringer often comes under criticism for. But after performing a few tests, it’s clear that the 802 stands nearly as tall as other mixing desks at more than five times the price. The desk is admittedly quite noisy, but its dynamic range is hardly embarrassing. Its frequency response is excellent for such a cheap device, fairing better than a much more expensive comparison desk which I have never had any problems with! Distortion is relatively low. It should also be remembered that this desk will most likely be used in a home environment, so these deficiencies won’t matter as much as they would in a professional setup.

Finally, although it couldn’t be confused for the expensive centre of an enormous studio, aesthetically the 802 is a very smart looking piece of equipment, as well as being compact and very easy to find your away around with its different coloured controls, logical layout and useful level meter.

Of course, there are a couple of drawbacks. It would have been nice to see level faders instead of rotary controls, although they would have increased the size of the unit. And, although okay, the audio quality really can’t match up to more expensive equipment on many occasions. But even with these points said, the bottom line is that the Xenyx 802 boasts plenty of features, decent enough audio quality for a home musician and pretty sharp looks!

This unit really is very good value for the money. I have used Behringer units before, and always thought them OK, but made down to fit the price.
This is different. It looks and feels really well made, with a metal casing around two substantial ABS endplates. All the pots feel firm and smooth to operate. The input connectors are 'full size' jacks, not those horrible 3.5mm miniatures. The exceptions are the two XLR mic inputs.

The mic preamps are very quiet -unbelievably good for the price. As for the output buss noise levels, well basically there is none -you really have to crank the gains up to check the unit is actually on! The EQ is very good, with the indicated level markings around the pots very accurate. The EQ pots, along with the pan and balance pots have a reassuring centre detent . All the levels change smoothly. The mic input pad adjustment pots are a bit small, but then there's not a lot of room. The routing is simple, and well described in the manual.
The LED meters are abit basic, but give a good general idea of input levels -- and with the available headroom, it's not that critical anyway.
I needed a simple mixer to route a couple of line sources, together with a mic input for adding audio to video edits, and this simple little mixer is first class for that task.
Two good mic preamps, two stereo line inputs, all with 3 band EQ, plus FX send and stereo returns, plus a headphone amp ,and all for less than £50 --- unbelievable!
Any criticism?? -- well, my unit has a tiny blemish on the base paintwork --- nothing to worry about --I'm really having to scrape the barrel to find something wrong!

And it's a shame that the power supply (which runs quite warm BTW)is +/-18Volts AC --makes it difficult to add battery power for location use- you'd need to use an inverter, but at this price you could still probably afford one!
It the others in the range are all this good, I reckon Behringer have a winner with the XENYX series
