I have been using Behringer HPS3000 phones for my home studio but with the addition of a sensitive condenser mic (Shure KSM44) , found that I was getting spill from the phones. I thought the 5000 must be better than the 3000 (duh!) so I ordered a set on line. Mistake. The 5000 do not fit me very well as there is no side adjustment of the cans - so much for closed phones. Just as much spill and even feedback - wow. I will give these to my daughter for her Ipod and order some Beyer DT00's.

If they fit your head, then they do indeed sound very good, however out of 10 people I ordered these for, only one person could wear them comfortably. There is no swivel in the side where the cans attach to the head band, so although you can adjust them taller, you can not adjust them for width. So, unless you have the exact width of head they were designed for, then you will not want to wear them as the bottom of the headphone tends to stick out away from your head. Naturally this means they are not closed cans as all the sound leaks out.

Good sound quality, wasted on a very badly designed fitting.

First of all I must say that when I got these headphones I was looking for the right ones for mixing in my Home-recording-studio and that fitted my small budget as really good studio headphones tend to cost a lot more than these ones. Some friends of mine are Behringer-user live-deejays and always recommended me Behringer products as they are very pleased with them.

I decided to give these headphones a chance after being recommended by my friends, as well as being closely familiarized with the brand thanks to them. I can compare with my previous AKG-55 and SONY MDR-XD200 and I must say that I´m really impressed about the quality of the sound as they are way better than what I thought they were going to be for that price class. (As I said before, really good studio headphones are way more expensive than these.)

The first impression I got when I had them in my hands was that they looked really nice, but a bit plasticky at first glance though. Now, after a few weeks I must say that it is a hard durable plastic and, by the way, this material helps these headphones being really light, which is great if you tend to have them on for long periods of time as I do.

Once I have them on my head I must say I find them confortable. The ear-cups fit my ears well and the cushion feels nice and confortable. I have tried on more confortable headphones than these ones but we have to realize that they cost a lot more, so I would say that they´re confortable enough for the price they cost. I´ve been using them for 3 hours in a row every day since I got them only taking a 10 min. break and find them very confy. A very important fact (for my needs) must be said about these headphones and it is that they are of the \'closed type\', which means that they cover the whole ear providing with very useful acoustic isolation.

The headband fits firmly well to my head and I personally find it confortable as it doesn´t press too hard on my head as other headphones do after a while.

The length of the cord is more than enough for me as I use the headphones only while mixing in my PC where my Home-Studio is and don´t need a very long cord. I must say that the cord is extendable (from 1 m. to 2,5 m) which I specially enjoy as I´m not going to walk away from my PC with them on. The cord is made out of copper and it is oxygen free which supposedly offers a better sound quality. It sounds great for me. Another fact about the cord is that is single sided as well, which I find very handy, and comes with two kinds of connectors ( a 1/8” connector, and a 1/4” adapter) which offers the possibility of connecting them anywhere.

Back on the acoustics, the overall sound of bass and highs is very neutral/equilibrated and plain, which is perfect for mixing if you don´t have a good set of studio-speakers like me. So, if you want more bass or highs then you just have to pump them up on the Eq. board so after that they will sound exactly as you like them to.

So, these headphones totally fit my needs for a VERY affordable price, and coming from such a well known brand as Behringer you can only trust they will be perfect. I like the way they sound so well and are confortable to wear. What else can I say? I won´t give them a 10 because there are better and more expensive studio headphones out there but I´ll give them an 8 because they really do feel like an 8!

Would I buy them again? Definitely YES!
