Excellent book !

very well detailed, it starts from description of instruments with photos, range charts, then explains their importance in the orchestra, how to use them (how to schore balanced chords, melodies, etc...) and how to use your libraries in your MIDI compositions and of course how to achieve a good orchestration, in function of the mood you want to create (and I have to add that it is really useful to have different chapters wether you want to orchestrate for strings, brass, woodwind or percussions).
There are very interesting descriptions of different softwares, books, how to use sequencers (scores, piano roll, MIDI CC, etc...).
Interviews are very instructive for people like me who don\'t know anything about studio recording.
At the end you have a detailed description of libraries (available in 2004) which can help you to choose what you need.

This is really a great book and it\'s worth its price !
There are many photos and examples to illustrate the ideas or the softwares, and it is really well explained (especially when english is not your native tongue, it\'s not hard to understand).

Moreover it\'s fast shipped with Dolphin music (only 8 days for me, and I live in a small town of France, I usually get my shippings in 2 or 3 weeks with other websites!). ;)
