The only thing that is “home” about the SCOPE home package is the price point. It will suit your budget even if you operate your studio from home. Still what you get is a thoroughly professional grade product with an array of features that are second to none amongst today’s audio I/O solutions. With version 4.5, SCOPE home now includes the formerly optional “ADAT Expansion” – upgrading the number of I/Os to 36 inputs and 36 outputs. That makes a total of 72 audio channels that can be connected to a SCOPE home at one time!

SCOPE home is especially well suited for “native signal processing“ environments that demand stable low latency drivers and that profit from DSP-based mixing and routing functionality that allows to integrate outboard gear into the software environment.

SCOPE home v4.5 combines 72 audio I/Os with the power of three Analog Devices SHARC DSPs and comes with a large plugin library full of great surprises and discoveries – a library that will take you weeks to discover.

Other I/O solution products offer only I/O. For a similar budget, SCOPE home takes you much much further – experience the flexibility and the sound of the professional DSP league. Like no other I/O product, the scalable and upgradable SCOPE home solution protects your investment - grow your system as you grow: the sky is the limit!

Software Library

The sound makes the difference. Set yourself ahead of the crowd and discover a selection of audiophile plugins that is second to none - both in quantity as well as in quality: a new world of sound to discover.

  • Mixers - Thanks to its advanced DSP processor technology, SCOPE home is ideally suited for “live mixing” of external inputs and other multitrack or master sources via drivers from the PC. No other audio card system today can touch the mixing abilities and sound performance of the SCOPE mixer library. Yes – you get not just one basic mixer but a whole library of professional mixers, already with SCOPE home. Every SCOPE ships with 5 innovative mixer plugins. The Dynamic Mixers are ideal for the “quick submix” of an adjustable number of channels. The powerful STM-4896 models a full-blown large-scale studio console with amazing features and sound. Also surround technology is covered with the STM-48S, which allows for surround mixes up to 7.1. When you mix in your host sequencer – and when you mix on the SCOPE DSP system - there is an audible difference. You will be amazed just how clear you can hear the SCOPE advantage is. Why that is so? In very part, SCOPE is a no-compromise system that enjoys the advantages and the high resolution of an optimized audio processor.
  • Effects - One of the major advantages of a DSP solution in the fact that processing occurs without any latency - thus, software plugins can be used with “live” signals - just like dedicated hardware processors. That is not just more reliable than host based software – it’s also in sync with the source. There is no latency by design - timing and phase remain perfect. That way you can use your SCOPE plugin library “live” – with your instrument, with your outboard equipment, in live setups! The effects library of SCOPE is an outstanding selection of very high quality effect plugins – from “essential” to “creative”. No matter which effect you select to use, you will never leave the outstanding level of sound quality of a SCOPE system. With version 4.5, some new highlights such as the MasterVerb Pro studio reverb are on-board already with the base system.
  • MIDI Tools - Where was the MIDI Merger again? Ah, ok – find it under “MIDI”, next to the MIDI Monitor. Just some essential MIDI tools.
  • Synthesis - Also as a synthesis laboratory, SCOPE is second to none. It is arguably one of the strongest synthesis and sound design products on the planet. With version 4.5, every SCOPE package (except SCOPE FX and REstore) includes an amazing collection of great-sounding synth plugins such as the Lightwave, SB-404, Prisma (and many more) as well as the powerful Modular II synthesizer, which allows modular design of new synthesis circuits. Exploring SCOPE’s synth abilities is an almost inexhaustible source of inspiration. You will be amazed by the sound and flexibility you gain with the SCOPE platform.
  • Samplers - Following the studio standard, the SCOPE samplers were modelled after the most powerful rackmount hardware samplers. From the STS-2000 to the STS-4000, you will find SCOPEs samplers easy to use and compatible with both the Sound Font™ and the AKAI™ standard. The most striking advantage of the STS family is their uncompromised timing.
As parts of the sampler run on the DSP hardware, the response time (latency) is amongst the smallest available in the market. The timing is most stable, as good as with the best available hardware units. The STS-4000 features 64 voice polyphony, a choice of 14 different resonant filters and advanced editing facilities
  • Optional commercial plugins and freeware offerings - You may spend months of enjoyment exploring the plugins that comes with the SCOPE 4.5 software. Even more highlight plugins are available commercially within CreamWare’s online store or from 3 rd party vendors. Plus you can choose from dozens of innovative shareware or freeware synth plugins that were authored by users of the “SDK” (SCOPE Development Kit) – being freely available for download on the internet.

Applications

An amazing bargain: SCOPE home features a 3-DSP card with 36 inputs and 36 outputs plus an extensive library of DSP applications and plugins. We recommend SCOPE home when you are looking for a top-notch I/O solution that integrates your studio via its advanced DSP mixing and routing functionality.

The three most popular applications for using the SCOPE home system are:

  • Work with multiple Software Programs at one time - When you load multiple different audio programs, each software will typically expect to have one audio port on its own. Ordinary audio interfaces typically just provide one driver port, allowing you to use only one audio software at a time. With a SCOPE card you can use multiple software programs at the same time: SCOPE lets you use multiple audio drivers (“virtual sound cards”) at the same time and provides powerful mixing facilities to mix the output of your different software packages.
  • Perfect Monitoring with Effects - The inherent latency of native systems makes effective monitoring a very difficult (well, almost impossible) task. Therefore, some cards offer "direct monitoring" whereas the input signal is being brought to the output without any involvement of the host computer, in order to avoid latencies. Still, such "dry" signal is not what many musicians want - they want to hear themselves with good "sound" when they record. Using the CPU for effects always results in a latency that most performers consider very irritating.
  • Total Recall Studio Patchbay - SCOPE is the only affordable system to provide you with truly perfect monitoring. The singer wants a perfect monitor? SCOPE gives you that freedom. Add compression and some reverb to the channel strip of the singer and give her the signal after the effects on the monitor - with no latency whatsoever. With SCOPE, perfect monitoring is a natural.
  • Total Recall Studio Patchbay - Are you tired to reconfigure and re-patch your studio every time you are switching projects? The good news is that you don’t need to spend a fortune on a dedicated digital studio patchbay: SCOPE itself is a most powerful routing environment – enabling you to route and mix all signals in your studio, whether originating from software or coming into the system via its I/Os. Saving and restoring a SCOPE project lets you entirely reconfigure your studio in seconds – never waste time on your studio cabling again. By the way: it is very affordable to have dozens of physical inputs and outputs with your SCOPE system. SCOPE is surely the most powerful and affordable studio router available.

I invested in your SFP Project Studio and SCOPE SRB boards some time ago, but am unwilling to use them in my pro studio environment until you have developed your software for usage in OSX. I know you're working on it, but if you want your product to be usable and to gain recognition among pros in the US, you've got to get a move on. Initially developing your product for Windows/PC so that you could have access to the larger consumer market was probably a good financial idea, but I cannot use, and certainly cannot recommend your gear to American pros until keep up on Macintosh development. I am looking forward to using your gear in conjunction with Logic in OSX on a G4 1.25, and if successful later on a G5. It would be nice if your gear would make use of dual processors as well, wouldn't it?!?!? Looking forward...still looking forward...
