Inputs - Mic / Guitar / Keyboard
The CME Matrix X is equipped with a high-quality, low-noise microphone preamp with 48-volt phantom power, a DI style Hi-Z instrument input and a balanced stereo line input. This allows you to record from almost any source - from a microphone, guitar, bass or synthesizer / digital piano etc - even if your soundcard / audio interface only has line inputs.
Outputs - Balanced Stereo Monitor Out and Dual Headphone Outputs
The CME Matrix X includes a balanced stereo monitor output for your studio monitor speakers and two separate stereo headphone outputs. Each output has it’s own independent level control so everyone in the studio can have exactly the volume they like. Letting a performer have control over his or her own headphone volume level is especially important for acheiving a good performance - this is a well-known fact, and is why the Matrix X facilitates this capability.
In addition to the inputs and outputs described above, the CME Matrix X features a dedicated stereo input and stereo output for connection to your computer soundcard / audio interface. These connections leave the the other inputs and outputs free for their intended purpose and are also crucial to the Matrix X's Dual-Buss Monitor Architecture...
The unique dual-buss monitor architecture permits direct monitoring allowing you to record with zero latency (no delay). This means that at the flick of a switch, your inputs are routed both to your computer for recording and directly to the stereo outputs and two headphone outputs (mixed in with your soundcards output) for you to listen to. This arrangement avoids the slight delay (known as latency) you can experience caused by the signal you are recording going into your computer and out again before you get to hear it and makes recording much easier for performers.
If you don't require direct monitoring, flick the switch and you can monitor your inputs via your computer for realtime native effects processing purposes etc. The CME Matrix X provides all the flexibility you need.
The expected CME build-quality applies equally to their Matrix X. The Matrix X is compact in size but built into a strong metal case with study controls and sockets.
