Mackie also built in the industry's first 32-bit digital EMAC™ effects contained in a powered mixer. Developed specifically for PPM mixers, our EMAC is equivalent to many outboard effects processors, and offers 16 user-controllable, stunning effects. And since graphic equalizers are always in a powered mixer's output path, we insanely over-engineered ours with expensive, discrete components, eliminating the phase distortion that plagues our competitors.

BUILT LIKE ONLY MACKIE CAN

The PPM 808M has everything you'll need for the gig. Each of the six mono channel strips feature XLR mic and 1/4" TRS line inputs, TRS insert jacks, monitor and effects send, 3-band EQ, and an input Trim control with individual level-set LEDs. And you wont need external effects, thanks to our EMAC 32-bit precision digital effects processor—which sounds great and is as easy to use as a stompbox. There's even an Effects to Monitor control, so you can give your stage monitors a "wet" mix, totally independent of the Mains. The output section boasts two of our 600-watt FR (Fast Recovery) power amps, dual 9-band graphic equalizers, 75Hz rumble reduction filters, a switchable soft-knee compressor, and output level metering.

CLEAN, ARTICULATE MIXING

Above all else, the PPM Series mixers sound great. Often copied, but seldom duplicated, our high-headroom, low-noise mic preamps are legendary the world over for their superior sound quality. That's why we use them in the PPM Series—clean, quiet, superb. Each preamp channel has its own input Trim control, which provides up to 40dB microphone gain, 20dB line-level gain, or a full 20dB of attenuation to "pad" those really hot signals. Channels also feature level-set LEDs for easy visual input gain adjustment—just speak, sing, or yell into the mic and adjust the Trim control until the little green LED blinks. Time to dial in a little channel EQ…

ACTIVE 3-BAND EQUALIZATION

Speaking of "fuzzy-box" manufacturers, we never limit your equalization options to bass and treble. All PPM® Series mixers feature our no-crosstalk, phase-accurate, 3-band EQs on each channel, with usable center frequencies as follows: 12kHz shelving high-frequency EQ (±15dB), 2.5kHz peaking mid-frequency EQ (±12dB), and 80Hz shelving low-frequency EQ (±15dB).

The PPM's onboard phantom power supply means you can use high-quality condenser microphones, as well as your favorite dynamic mics. Outputs include a 1/4" TRS mixer line output, a 1/4" TRS monitor line output, and left and right RCA tape/line outputs. And because we know you don't want to give up an entire channel (or two) for a CD player, we've provided RCA Tape In jacks, with a dedicated level control, for your favorite external playback device (tape, CD, iPod, etc.).

Possibly the most important feature on the PPM Series mixers is our ingenious Break switch, which mutes channels 1-6, but allows whatever is connected to the Tape inputs to be heard. You'll be glad you set this switch when some drunk yahoo jumps on stage during the break, and rips into "Stairway to Heaven."

ONBOARD 32-BIT DIGITAL EFFECTS

The pièce de résistance of our PPM Series is its onboard EMAC™ 32-bit digital effects processor, which offers a plethora of dynamic digital effects. You can select any one of 16 custom-designed algorithms ranging from small room reverb to "out-of-this-world" phase shifting—and they're all controllable and easy to operate. Both the Monitor Master and Main Master rotary controls have corresponding EFX controls, so you can mix your effects into the monitors as well as the main outputs.

A Professional Dual 15" Passive Loudspeaker, Designed by EAW. In the legions of look-alike, sound-alike passive loudspeakers on the market today, the S225 Precision Passive Loudspeaker stands alone. This loudspeaker is the perfect professional solution for clubs, bands and DJs requiring the high output and superior low-end response of dual 15" drivers and a solid birch wood enclosure--while retaining the portability and durability required for touring.

DESIGNED AND TUNED BY THE LOUDSPEAKER EXPERTS
Eyecatch 1 Precision Passive Loudspeakers represent the first passive speakers designed and tuned for Mackie exclusively by the Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) loudspeaker engineering team--the same folks responsible for designing loudspeaker systems for the Super Bowl, the Olympics and the Vatican. As such, the S225 was built from the ground up to offer the best performance of any loudspeaker in its class, which one listening test should quickly prove.

The S225's dual custom 15" high-output LF drivers (i.e. woofers) incorporate technology developed for EAW's large-format touring systems. This driver utilizes a long-throw design a 2.5-inch high-temperature voice coil for maximum punch, and years of reliability. The LF drivers are paired with a 1.75" titanium diaphragm high-output compression driver mounted on an acoustically transparent exponential waveguide horn. This provides a wide, controlled 90 x 40 coverage pattern and precise reproduction of the critical 1000 Hz – 20,000 Hz upper mid-range and high frequencies.

NO-COMPROMISE CONSTRUCTION
The S225 enclosure is constructed using both 18mm multi-layer Baltic Birch plywood and pressure-injected structural resin, ensuring sound quality and durability beyond other offerings in this class of loudspeaker. PVC vinyl covering and an industrial-grade steel grille repel the slings and arrows dished out in typical live environments, again with far greater effectiveness than the typical "rat fur" covering and nylon grilles found on competitive models. A carrying handle is integrated into each side for easy loading and transport.

BUILT FOR ACTION
Few things are as frustrating as having the wrong cable for hooking up. Connecting and setting up the S225 is a breeze. It accepts a speaker-level signal via either a Neutrik Speakon® connector or female 1/4-inch TS (Tip/Sleeve) connector, so now you don't have to remember to bring the proper adaptors either.
