The Behringer DJX700 is a professional 5-channel DJ mixer with such great features to instantly ingrain itself on the short list of must-have industry standards.

Start with our high-grade 45-mm ULTRAGLIDE faders. The faders are, after all, the heart and soul of each mixer. With their 500,000 cycles life expectancy, they outperform standard faders more than twenty-fold. VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) technology goes hand in hand with our faders—audio signal does not run directly through them; instead, the faders only provide a control voltage to the VCAs. The advantage: practically no audio noise caused by mechanical wear.

Your crowd will be astounded by the 47 breathtaking digital effect presets in 24-bit quality: delay, reverb, flanger, filter, panner, ultrabass, exciter, Vinylizer, voice changer and more. Your audience will be astounded, but they’ll never have to know your secret.

Matching tracks is an art in itself. It takes countless nights of practice before you can truly say you have it under your belt. With our intelligent BPM counter, we take a lot of the guesswork out. Features like SYNC LOCK and BEAT ASSIST help you seamlessly align two tracks without having to rely solely on your ears.

We also give you our awesome XPQ 3D surround function. It widens the stereo image and adds life and transparency to your sound—it’s a great way to put a unique finishing touch to your sound and make it feel bigger and wider.

You work either with CDs or vinyl—sometimes both—and they all induce their own noise into the mix. The last thing you want is to pile even more mixer-originated noise on top of that. That’s why all of our DJ mixers incorporate the improved ULN (Ultra Low-Noise) preamps: what comes in comes out, with nothing added. So you get maximum headroom, minimal noise and ultra-transparent sound.

Absolute bargain, but no XLR output and the controls feel plasticy

Hi all

What most people say here is all very true.

I didn't experience any crackling problems etc, but I never used it in a club environment. I have heard of them installed in bars though, but an important note to make on this is that there is NO XLR output. It's RCA all the way. Power supply is from a euro (kettle lead) which is also pretty handy.

Again, I want to reiterate how utterly useless the beat counter/beat assist mode is.

And yes, the upfaders are certainly most sensitive towards the top, but you do actually get used to it.

The unit also feels a bit cheap (well..it is :D), and the knobs and faders just don't feel as nice as they look in the pictures, or in fact like the knobs etc found on other Behringer devices.

HOWEVER, it is an absolute bargain. You should be able to connect up all your line and phono devices that you'd need. It's a total rip off of the DJM series and it's done rather well ('cept the XLR out). For beginner or amateur, this is seriously recommended because you're learning an industry standard mixer style and it'll do the job.

For pros, you'll be annoyed with the lack of XLR, and the general plasticy feel of the controls (although the actual unit itself feels pretty solid).

i have only had this mixer for 2 days.
a few things have bothered me. the upfaders are only effective at the top 30% of the motion... can be annoying. the effects all seem to be different tones of echo, although 10 and 40 f the options are good, most of the effects require crossfader movement in order to sound good.. not really a downside, but i feel it makes effect options limited.
as the rest of the reviews state... the bpm counters are virtually pointless they ALWAYS calculate the wrong BPM, do not trust them.. to be honest, its best not to look at them anyway, the art of mixing is all done by ear.
the XPQsurround effect, which behringer boast about is yet again, basically a millisecond echo, giving the impression of a live performance...(why would you want that)
the frequency kills could be improved by punch buttons to obtain accurate and effective audio performance.
BUT giving the fact that i paid £120... this is the best mixer you can buy, it has 4 channels, sound effects, which once you understand how they work properly, probably will add brilliant effects to your music. it has lots of little gadgets, which will work for some music genres lol
it looks brilliant, and has alot more features than any others in its price range, i have seen people comparing it to the pioneer djm600 i have used the pioneer, and yes it is better, but when pioneer djm600's are roughly.... £600-700? this stands at about £120... i rate this mixer 10 out of 10, because for the price paid, it is a brilliant mixer!!!

some DJ's have been using this in clubs, which tells you... its a good mixer

to compare to the pioneer, would be unfair, as pioneer, in my opinion IS the best mixer production company.
i am very happy with this mixer, and i am sure it will further my jock skills in the near future.
well done Behringer, yet another Excellent price economical mixer :)

Now to see if the faders crackle after a few months lol, if any do, i will post another, informing you guys. although, for £120 it wouldnt really matter.

So it looks like a Pioneer DJM600. It essentially works the same as well. But there's none of the finesse of the DJM600. It's so cheap though is this such a problem?

The spec is big for a mixer of this price. If you want to have 4 channels say for 3 deck mixing with the channels each assigned on the crossfader you won't do it on ANY mixer around the same price. This is Behringer doing what they do best, copying most prestige brands, and giving it to the public at rock bottom price.

This mixer works really well. All the controls feel sturdy, if a little cheap in their motion. A minor fault is with the volume faders, which have far too much movement on them with little change in the volume, then suddenly the last 2 cms of movement increases the volume massively. You can get used to it easily enough though. The xfader curve is completely adjustable and the EQs / Kill switches do a good enough job of cutting certain frequencies.

The BPM counter is pretty useless though. On anything other than a strict 4x4 house tune, it gets totally confused. Then again, who really uses these? Also the effects aren't anything too special. They can be used to good effect but there's far too many and far too little good ones.

Where this mixer really falls down though is the sound quality. On a decent hifi, it really sounds thin, weak and reduces the quality of the output from turntables, CD players etc. If it wasn't for this, I'd still be using one. It's harsh sounding, very bright with no warmth.

BUT, and this is a big but. It's under £150, it's usage is very good and has everything you'll need on a mixer for sometime to come. So weigh it up, if you want good sound quality then look elsewhere. If you want an all singing and dancing mixer for little outlay, look no further. For the beginner DJ or someone who just wants to mix on an average sound system, this is ideal. If you have a good quality hifi to mix on, you will be disappointed with the output... but not the way the mixer works.

It's good and well worth the money though.

I purchased my Behringer DJX 700 about 3 years ago now for about 240.00 which is twice as much compared to now. Its a great value for money mixer for the bedroom and parties. It looks similair to the club standard pioneer djm600 the quality isnt identical but what do you expect for the money. If your new to the djing game and fancy adding a little extra to your mix then this is the best you'll get in the price range. It has around 100 effects which are easy to use along with vca faders mine are still fine now !!!
All in all a great mixer for the money at an amazing price, dont delay get one today !!!!

This would potentially be a good mixer, if the components weren't so low quality. I bought mine just over a year ago and after about 3 months the channel faders started crackling - Most of the time, when the fader is moved to the top end only the left or right channel comes out and I have to fiddle with the fader to get the other side back - not god for a live scenario. When the faders do work, they seem to have no effect in the bottom 60%, then the volume suddenly sweeps from off to maximum in the last 40%. The same can be said for the 3-band EQ knobs, especially the Low.

The effects are BPM locked so they obviously sound rubbish when used with 155 BPM hard house, the remaining 25% are all at different volumes so they have to be used carefully or there is either no effect, or the effect really overpowers the music. It does have external effect send / return capabilities, but these are selected using the PFL (headphone) selector, which is awkward.

The BPM counter only goes to 160 BPM, which is not that good, but the whole BPM counting system on this mixer is unreliable anyway and regularly reports the wrong BPM, so I do not use it (not that I would need to!). The Beat Assist button seems to calculate the right BPM when I tap it, but as soon an I stop tapping it, it goes out of time within about 3 seconds.

The kill switches have no Punch capability - they either lock on or off. It would be nice to have 3-way toggle switches (lock, no kill, punch), like the Numark Matrix series.

This mixer could easily be re-engineered as a simple 4-channel mixer without the whole of the right hand side (XPQ, BPM Counter & Effects). Then they could use the money saved to put good quality channel faders and dedicated external Effect Send controls in and it would be a really good mixer, but overall it's not at the moment.
