The Laney VC30-112 delivers classic British Class A valve guitar tone from EL84 valves driving a custom Celestion 12" speaker. Class A circuitry means the output valves are turned on during both positive and negative halves of the output signal, meaning no crossover-notch distortion as the signal passes from positive to negative and back. Class A circuitry results in a cleaner more acurate tone.
The Laney VC30-112 has output valves rather than transistors giving a warmer tone, with loads of rich second order harmonics as the valves are overdriven. Overdrive a transistor and it sounds like breaking glass.
