TC Electronic introduces an update for the VoiceOne Voice Pitch and Modeling Tool.

VoiceOne 2.0 expands and improves on the impressive feature set of the original VoiceOne. Based on continuing research into the human voice, VoiceOne 2.0 is the dedicated processing device for correction and enhancement of your lead voice as well as creation of rich harmonies and vocal effects.

New features in version 2.0

Vocoder VM – using Voice ModelingTM algorithms
The integration of Vocoder VM into VoiceOne reflects the creative direction of today’s popular music, where vocals are being used as instruments. Using advanced voiced / un-voiced detection, Vocoder VM can apply resonance and spectral EQ to the vocoded signal.

Smoothing Algorithm

Smoothing was introduced on TC-Helicon’s vocal harmony product VoiceWorks. The smoothing algorithm preserves the pitch nuances of the original vocal track when pitch shifting. By setting the global smoothing parameter between 50% and 70% very natural MIDI pitch shift can be achieved.

Spectral Custom Style

New custom styles have been added to the list of styles for the Spectral Block. These styles model some of the typical EQ curves you would use on vocals. However, these new styles give you boost or cut control of the low, medium and high frequency bands. These styles can be very useful in crafting a better spectral curve for a vocal when fitting into a mix.

Pitch to MIDI parameters

Along with improvements to pitch recognition and the pitch to MIDI algorithm, new parameters have been added to integrate better with MIDI instruments.
The source for pitch to MIDI can be input pitch, correction pitch, shift pitch or output pitch. Additionally, in order to control the amount of midi data that is sent when you use the pitch bender, we have improved the bend range parameter.

Unity gain mode

This mode improves the integration of VoiceOne into an analog setup. In unity gain mode VoiceOne automatically makes sure that the output level is unity – and the front panel output control is disabled.
