Hey there,
I just bought myself one of these Fender 12-string guitars (CD-100-12 NAT) and Ive been filling my room with rich, bright, full-sounding decadent music for the past hour.
As you can tell Im very satisfied with the instrument thus far.
I've been playing guitar in general for about 9 years and my style is very Tool-inspired. Drop- D stuff, with alot of drone notes on the top string, and tonal variation created by using different notes on all other strings.
So deep down, I always suspected that a 12-string would really open up my compositions and make them fuller and richer.

THis guitar delivers. Once its tuned up properly, it sings like an angel. And within minutes I grew accustomed to the fact that now im holding down 2 strings where i usually would have been holding 1.

The "Reason" the instrument is so affordable im told is because the top isnt pure wood. It's a composite of wood and a synthetic.
Possibly plastic. I paid $219 CAD for mine.

Its very light to lift and the finish is relatively flawless. In my opinion whoever made the decision at Fender to start marketing these instruments at such a reasonable price was very generous. I predict many more 12-string players appearing in the near future.
