Bass Guitars

Bass guitars look similar to guitars in appearance, but they usually have larger bodies and only four strings.

Generally speaking, bass guitars are easier to play than a guitar, because bassists don't usually play chords, just single notes...as Sid Vicious proved (for instance) you don't need to be a "musician" to play bass! Which makes the bass a great instrument for people who are interested in music but are not musically inclined.

That's not to say you can't be a great musician playing bass - from Paul McCartney to Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) the world is full of great bassists showing how much you can do with this simple instrument!
