Les Paul Style
The Gibson Les Paul is one of the most recognized solid-body electric guitar designs. Developed in the early 1950s, the guitar has become one of the most enduring and popular musical instrument models in the world. Its design has been left virtually untouched for nearly 50 years.
Today, you can find several models inspired by the Les Paul shape, from the more traditional-looking models by Epiphone and Vintage, to designs by makers such as Yamaha, PRS, Duesenberg and others, that get the inspiration from the Les Paul shape but create something new.
Typically, Les Paul-style guitars have a single cutaway body and two humbucking pickups, that make the guitars sound warmer and heavier than guitars with single-coiled pickups, such as Stratocasters. For that reason, the Les Paul has been a favourite of blues-rock, hard-rock and heavy-metal players, getting popular in the 60's when guitarists such as Jeff beck, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Peter Green and others chose the GIbson Les Paul as their main axe.
No wonder that when the Beatles recorded their loudest ever single, "Revolution", George Harrison decided to use a Les Paul!
But you can also find double cutaway Les Pauls, and simpler Les Paul models, with only one humbucker or P-90 pickup.

The DC/1P was created to meet the demands of players who prefer the 24 3/4" scale. It is a joint design effort between Master Luthier Tom Doyle and Patrick Cummings. Patrick met Tom Doyle in 1996 at a Scott Chinery "Blue Guitar" event and asked Tom if he would like to create a guitar that blended the some of Toms' designs with the our unique ideas such as "comfort contoured top" and "sculpted headstock".
