S-Style
The Fender Stratocaster, often referred to as a Strat, is a model of electric guitar designed by Leo Fender and Freddie Tavares in the early 1950s, and manufactured continuously to the present. The Stratocaster has been used by many leading guitarists, and thus can be heard on many historic recordings. The Stratocaster is one of the most enduring and common models of electric guitar in the world, famous for the clear, trebly sound single-coils produce, and the varied range of tones obtained by the (usually) five possible combinations the pickups switch provides.
Amongst the most famous guitarists that have used a Stratocaster we can mention: Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, The Beatles, Dave Gilmour, John Frusciante of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kurt Cobain and many others.
The Strat remains as popular today as it ever was.
