Soundcraft MFX12/2 Reviews
In the current financial climate, one rarely gets much for ones money. However, Soundcraft have here produced a desk which not only continues the Company\'s magnificent history of high quality products, but also makes good use of the money spent.
It is very flexible and has many varied applications.
I use it for live sound, and have not found much to fault it yet. It handily fits in a standard 19\" mixer rack, and does not need a dedicated case, and is also fairly light weight, making it easy to transport. The inbuilt Lexicon Effects unit is a great addition, saving more space in the car, but only one effect can be used at once, so in some situations this is no advantage. For small format situations it is very versatile, having three aux outputs (the FX Bus has a post fade output if not in use with the onboard unit), two subgroups, and lots of control over the tonal balance, thanks to three band EQ on all channels. It does lack inserts on the main outputs, but a stereo return does get around this sort of with a little imagination.
All in all, a versatile desk, with a wide range of applications, at a very affordable price. Highly Reccomended.
I Have two of these mixers that we use on stage with the band, the quality of the preamps are excellent, nice warm analog sound and clear as a bell, the only thing i dont like about the mixer is it does\'nt have direct outputs for recording which would have been handy as we record ourselfs as we go along,it means wehave to get a patchbay and extra leads to do the job.i really think soundcraft should have thought this one out.the effects are o.k.but if you want better quality you\'ll have to fork out in more hardware to get it.there i recommend the T.C electronic M3000 for reverb.i would also have liked the inserts on the back of the mixer, but thats not a big problem.Ian.
