Sennheiser E 945 Reviews
I have just attended a group test of microphones from both Shure and Sennheiser. The test included all the major players such as the 865, 935 and 945 from Sennhesier. From Shure were the Beta 58, 87A and the KSM.
The 945 shone through with clarity and warmth compared to models of similar price range. With male vocals, it added depth and a powerful midrange, yet still sounded sharp at the top end. This was confirmed with female vocals where it even outshone the Shure 87A on some tests, despite being about £60 cheaper !
I would thoroughly recommend this mic for stage use and am very freateful for the opportunity to have heard it back to back with its main rivals.
A real winner.
Having suddenly thrown in at the deep end as lead vocalist (switching from bass) i needed all the help i could get microphone wise. I started off using the obvious sure sm58 that had happily surficed for my backing vocal, however, as i felt i now had to run round the pub jumping on tables to cover up my vocal inexperience i had started to get feedback problems. Our drummer who does backing vocals had a sennheiser E945 & was keen to sing it's praises as he regularly used it playing guitar/singing in an acoustic duo.
We swopped & i was amazed at the massive gain without feedback even when wandering around in front of the PA, not to mention the overall difference in vocal sound quality. Unfortunatley he wanted it back so i had to buy my own.
Dolphin had the best price after extensive net surfing, & they were lightning on the delivery!
Worth every penny!
