Dynamic microphones provide a lower output level than condenser mics. Thus, depending on the input gain of your recorder, you may be better off with a rugged condenser mic.

If your MD recorder provides no phantom power, you can use the AKG C 1000 S that can be alternatively powered by an internal 9 V battery.
