When restringing a classical guitar you should always use nylon strings. In most cases, normal acoustic guitar strings will not fit!

The recommended packs are normal tension. You can get nylon strings with lighter or harder tension that can alter the playability and tone of your strings.
If you aren't sure which tension you want, it's best to go for normal and then discover if you would like your next pack to be more firm or loose.
Other string manufacturers to look out for are Martin, Augustine and Savarez nylon strings.
HOW OFTEN TO CHANGE CLASSICAL GUITAR STRINGS?
Ideally, whenever they start to sound bad you should start thinking of changing them. The length of time depends on how often you play and how you treat your strings.
Old strings can sound dull and lose some of the bass/high end and sound very underwhelming. Washing your hands each time before a practice session will prevent dirt and oil from your hands clinging to your strings/fretboard, and can make quite a difference to the sound of your strings.
Good luck with your string endeavours. You'll be a pro in no time!
