Since it first appeared in 2008, Liverpool Sound City has been one of our musical highlights of the year - it's always 3 days and nights of fascinating, forward-looking industry conference and top-notch live acts. This year the line-up is better than ever, featuring Alkaline Trio, Mystery Jets, Death In Vegas, Alt-J and hundreds more. Plus, for the first time ever, this year it includes an extra event: Liverpool Sound City Expo.

What is Sound City Expo?

While the conference discusses the future of the music biz, the Expo is a trade show where you can see it in the flesh, with live demos and masterclasses of the sort of tools that are essential for artists and creatives in 2012. Play with the gear and talk to the people that are shaping the intersection of music, art, business and technology.

Who'll be there?

Everyone from design studios to royalty collection agencies, from games companies to creative computing research labs and everything in between. Here's a full list of exhibitors.
