Roland have just released their new range of TD electronic drum kits with some fantastic new features and benefits to the modern drummer.

 

SuperNATURAL Sounds and Behaviour modelling

Roland’s new “behaviour modelling technology” has been added to the new range of TD kits which has been created to even further improve the already fantastic response found on older TD kits. This also creates a more realistic snare sound and feel particularly on transitions between rimshots and headshots. Even the response of positional hits such as buzz rolls and ghost strokes have been improved to sound even more authentic than TD kits of old.

Roland’s new SuperNATURAL technology is now found on the mid range kits (TD-11 and TD-15). This is technology usually found on Roland’s flagship models which creates a much more natural decay and organic tonal changes. This kind of technology will be very noticeable for experienced drummers particularly on cymbal sounds where the decay can be key.

The TD-11 range

The all-new TD-11 kits have replaced the TD-4 range of kits. These affordable kits not only have improved sensing and more natural sounding samples but the new TD-11 sound module offers a coaching function with training exercises to help you learn to play drums without paying a teacher! This is coupled with a quick record function and the ability to play along with songs in WAV/MP3 audio files. The screen is much larger and easier to use than the old TD-4 kits.

 

The TD-15 range

The TD-9 kits have been replaced with the TD-15. The TD-15 sound module is very similar to the TD-11 module as it has the same behaviour modelling and SuperNATURAL technology, but as with the old TD-9 it has twice as many kits as the TD-11 version.

Plus with more advanced practice tools such as “time check”, “quiet count” and “warm ups” the TD-15 even further reduces the need for expensive lessons. The TD-15 is also now compatible with the Air Recorder and V-drums Friend Jam for iPhone making it probably the worlds most versatile mid-range electronic drum kit.

 

The TD-30 range

The new TD-30 sound module is Roland’s flagship brain used on the TD-30K and TD-30KV kits. With a vast range of drum kits, the TD-30 module is perfect for any style of music as it has over 1000 editable on-board sounds.

As with the TD-11 and TD-15 kits the TD-30 features the new superNATURAL technology and behaviour modelling which when combined give the most realistic playability and sound available on any electronic drum kit today.
