The Roland R-Mix is a software package designed for people who want to ‘break apart’ a stereo mix and edit the individual elements. R-Mix allows you to see the individual components of your mix as colour-coded clouds of ‘harmonic matter’. You can adjust levels and panning, erase/extract these elements and add effects and make tempo and pitch changes.

R-Mix has been developed using Roland’s V-Remastering and VariPhrase technologies. V-Remastering makes it possible to isolate the individual instruments or elements within the mix and change their panning positions and levels. VariPhrase on the other hand has the ability to make your audio "elastic." The secret to which, is the independent control of pitch, time, and formant, allowing you to smoothly adjust pitch without changing tempo, or adjust tempo without changing pitch. Audio is elastic, and freely under your control in real time.

R-Mix is not just a great piece of software for producers and audio manipulators but with its easy to use graphical interface, it’s also a great tool in helping musicians to learn songs, offering access to any desired instrument in the mix, and the ability to slow down difficult sections of the music. R-Mix also integrates easily into educational or video production settings.
