Jim Marshall Dies Aged 88

Jim Marshall OBE, founder of the Marshall Amplification company has sadly passed away.

One of Milton Keynes most famous, Jim Marshall changed the way Rock music was played forever with some of his very first designs like the JTM 45.

The Father of Loud’s creations were, and still are used by some of the most iconic names in the music industry. Today, no matter what studio/venue you enter, it’s almost guaranteed that there will be a Marshall amp in there somewhere.

Statement from Marshall

"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved founder and leader for the past 50 years, Jim Marshall."

"While mourning the Guv’nor though, we also salute a legendary man who led a full and truly remarkable life."

Jim was the pioneering inventor, and the soul behind the Marshall Amplification company and it is difficult to imagine the brand sustaining its magic without him.

"While the entire Marshall Amplification family mourns Jim’s passing and will miss him tremendously, we all feel richer for having known him and are happy in the knowledge that he is now in a much better place which has just got a whole lot louder."
