Fender Release Alkaline Trio Malibu Acoustic Guitar
The American punk rockers Alkaline Trio add a unique take on a Fender California acoustic to bring us their Signature Model. Remember the cover of AT's 2011 acoustic album, Damnesia? Fender takes the classic '60s-era-sun-and-fun Malibu folk-style acoustic and dress it up with a graceful heart-shaped rosette designed by the band which can be seen on the front cover of Damnesia to bring us the very exciting Alkaline Trio Malibu.
Features of the Alkaline Trio Malibu include a richly resonant all-mahogany body with the AT-designed heart-shaped rosette, scalloped X bracing, C-shaped maple Stratocaster neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard, body and neck binding, rosewood bridge with synthetic bone compensated saddle, chrome hardware and gloss neck and body finish.
An Alkaline Trio Timeline
The Chicago based punk rock band date back to the 90s - with their first EP release, Sundials making its debut in 1997. Their first two full albums, Goddamnit and Maybe I'll Catch Fire were released through independent record label, Asian Man Records in 1998 before they signed to Vagrant Records to release their third album, From Here to Infirmary - the bands first record to enter the Billboard top 200 Between 2001 and 2009 Alkaline Trio arguably reached their peak, with a further 3 album releases Good Mourning (2002), Crimson (2009) and Agony & Irony (released 2009, reached #13 on the billboard charts). In 2009 the band decided they wanted to depart from a major record label to set up their own. In collaboration with Epitaph Records, the bands label 'Heart & Skull' was founded and they released their highest charting album, This Addiction through.
The album in which you can see the Alkaline Trio Malibu featured on, Damnesia, is the bands eighth studio album consisting of a selection of beloved fan favourites of the bands catalogue and presented in an intimate semi-uplugged format. Two new songs "Olde English 800" and "I Remember a Rooftop" as well as a cover version of The Violent Femmes "I Held Her in My Arms" feature on this spectacular album.
To support the album the band have planned a 15th anniversary tour in the US - and in May 2012 they'll be in the UK!We've managed to get our hands on a few of these beauties and will be in stock soon.
