The dark, synth indie band took their 80's-loving debut album straight to the top! Find out more - plus White Lies Gear Guide!
[from NME.com] White Lies have gone straight in at Number One in the Official Albums Chart with their debut record 'To Lose My Life'. The band were informed of the news while filming the video for their next single 'Farewell To The Fairground' in Nikel, Russia.
Frontman Harry McVeigh told NME.COM that he was ecstatic to learn of the album's success.
"This is the best thing that could happen to a band on their debut," he said. "We are completely blown away, it's incredible."
White Lies Gear Guide:
Here's the White Lies equipment that we managed to spot: Roland A-37 MIDI Controller, Fender Telecaster with Bigsby, Fender Thinline Telecaster, Gibson ES-335, Boss RV-5 Delay Reverb, Boss TU-2 Tuner, Electro Harmonix Graphic Fuzz, Electro Harmonix Big Muff, Line 6 DL4 Delay and an Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail (sadly now discontinued, replaced by the Holy Grail Plus). Guitarist Harry McVeigh also uses a Hiwatt Hi-Gain Head Amp into a white Marshall 412 cab. Cool.
If you want to check White Lies live, they are currently embarking on a NME Shockwave Awards Tour with Glasvegas, Friendly Fires and Florence and The Machine.
