Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant Win U.K. Honours
Robert Plant, lead singer of the rock band Led Zeppelin, was amongst the 966 people granted civic honors today in the biannual awards. They include athletes who were successful in the summer Olympic Games and community and charity workers nominated by the public.
Plant : he's a Commander, now!
The honours are bestowed in the name of Queen Elizabeth II and are recommended by a panel that considers suggestions from government departments and political parties as well as from members of the public
Robert Plant was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, or C.B.E.
Plant, who reunited with his former Led Zeppelin band mates for a one-off London show last year. Plant also won a Grammy in 2007 for his collaboration with American country singer Alison Krauss.
