The BBC kicked off it's "Seven Ages of Rock" with the birth of rock 1963-1970, on Saturday. This is an amazing series and charts what is essentially the birth of music as we know it. Those of you lucky enough to have caught it, will know the joy of experiencing the best of this decades music, close up & personal.
With Hendrix almost dominating the guitar scene, and The Beatles creating their masterpeice album Sargent Peppers, throw in Cream, The Who and Bob Dylan - This series looks set to inspire any songwriter or performer, and gives the viewer a clear understanding of the influences, drugs, politics and the electric guitar. If the first part of seven is anything to go by, it looks as if it will the bible for music. Awsome stuff - Musicmakers everywhere rejoice and find shelter from Pop idol and west end reality TV, in what looks to be a long overdue insight into the true giants of the rock genre.
